Outreach & Workshops
Churchill Center & School’s Sandra K. Gilligan School Partnerships & Outreach Program is essential in strengthening our mission of fostering greater understanding and support for all people with learning disabilities by training other educators, supporting families, and enlightening the community.
Since the inception of our Community Outreach Program in 1990, more than 37,500 educators, parents, students, and other supporters have been given the opportunity to experience and broaden their understanding of learning disabilities.
We offer Teacher Workshops, Parent Workshops, Student Workshops, Community Service Events, and a Speaker Series. Each one of these programs offers our community a variety of services to recognize learning disabilities and to then equip the participants with strategies and knowledge to offer further assistance.

Wilson® Language Training: Community of Practice
2026-2027 COMMUNITY OF PRACTICE COHORT
Join us for the inaugural year of CoP! The CoP is meant to empower educators across all levels of experience to learn, grow, and lead within a collaborative community grounded in reflective practice, pedagogical excellence, and a shared commitment to student success.
Participants will earn 10 hours of WLT Professional Learning, plus eight additional hours from Recognized Providers for the optional summer book study of Instructional Illusions by Kirschner, Hendrick, and Heal. The book study is available only to CoP participants.

Program Goal:
To develop a community of Wilson certified teachers committed to advancing their instructional practices and upholding fidelity of implementation that delivers best outcomes for all students.
Program Structure:
The CoP runs from September 2026 thru May 2027, featuring nine monthly 90-minute live sessions, plus optional summer book study sessions.
