“I have been blessed by the advocators in my life who taught me to work WITH my learning disability. Just because you have dyslexia doesn't mean you are dumb. Just because you have a processing disorder doesn't mean you can't be organized. Just because you can't spell doesn't mean you can't write. You ARE valuable. Seek people who will help you learn work arounds. As my dad always says, 'There's always going to be someone better than you at something, but there doesn't have to be someone who works harder.' Find something you love and work towards your goals. You have what it takes!”

Kiersten Thompson, Churchill Alumna ’04, is a Riding Director at CedarS Camps in Lebanon, Missouri.
